State Filing Coordinator

Job Description:
Martin & Company has an excellent opportunity in their Compliance Division and is seeking a qualified candidate to fill their State Filing Coordinator position.

Preparation and submission of Property & Casualty rate, rule, and form filings countrywide
Preparation of responses (as requested by client) to DOI interrogatories
Tracking filing status
Review and analysis of bureau circulars/bulletins
Various research projects
Assist with Program & Product Development
Communicate with clients and state DOIs

Individual must have Property & Casualty rate, rule, and form filing experience. Program & Product Development and independent program filing experience a plus.

Qualified candidates must be: detail oriented, analytical, accurate, organized, able to work under time constraints, self-motivated, energetic, able to work independently and as part of a team, flexible and responsive to change, and customer service oriented. In addition, candidate must be proficient with: SERFF, I-File, exploring the internet for various research projects, Microsoft Office products (Word & Excel) and other PC applications. Also requires excellent math aptitude, communication, and time management skills.



Senior Actuarial Analyst

Job Description

We are currently in search of a mid-level actuary to perform rate filing support, competitive intelligence analyses, rate level reviews, and a variety of research projects including program and product development.  The primary responsibilities involve analyzing client data for the development of rate filings to the various state DOIs and responding to objections.  Our client base ranges from small regional mutual companies without an actuarial staff to large multi-national insurance groups writing virtually every line of business.  As this is a consulting position, the successful candidate will be directly responsible for strengthening his or her client relationships over time through effective communication, timeliness of delivery, and recommendation of creative solutions.  This is a full-time position and available on a work-at-home basis depending on each candidate’s unique situation.  We offer a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, PTO, and matching 401K plan) and a terrific, family-friendly, work environment.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

A degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

  • 4-10 years of experience and 2-6 CAS exams.  Continuation of exams and/or attainment of a CAS designation is not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client projects with limited assistance under tight deadlines.
  • Workers' Compensation and state filings experience a plus.
  • VBA and SQL experience is a plus.
  • Travel < 5%
